Simon Quick and Red Hook Management are merging. Here’s what it means for you.

By: Mark DeLotto

Simon Quick Advisors is growing. As of April 1st, Simon Quick has merged with Red Hook Management, an independent wealth management firm that shares our values and focus on family wealth.

Our founders built the businesses that would become Simon Quick because they knew firsthand how hard it was to find financial professionals who understood the challenges of family wealth. Bill Conger, and his late wife Nancy Conger founded Red Hook Management in 2008 to help their family, and later their clients’ families develop their own multi-generational wealth management plans. In joining Simon Quick, the Red Hook team is deepening our shared history of founders who understand firsthand the complexity that wealth creates.

Tom Trynin, President of Red Hook Management led the process of finding a new home for its clients and staff. “Over the past few years, Bill and I have been thinking about how we could enhance our services to clients and maintain the personalized approach that defines Red Hook. We wondered if joining forces with another firm could help us, so starting in 2020, slowly and methodically we studied our options. Throughout our search, our primary goal was to find a firm whose philosophy aligned with our own. We engaged in conversations with nearly 20 different firms, and ultimately decided to join Simon Quick because of their client service ethos, commitment to fiduciary management, and investment research capability.”

Bringing our businesses together means preserving our cultures of integrity and independence. I want to be clear on that point: neither Simon Quick nor Red Hook intends to disrupt the advisor-client relationships our clients have come to value from us.

The combined talent and resources of our firms will allow us to grow and evolve more sophisticated wealth management solutions for our clients. This is good news for Red Hook clients because their advisory team can now benefit from Simon Quick’s proprietary technology, SQ CORE™, and the firm’s infrastructure across investment research, operations, and marketing. That means they can identify more investment opportunities and take advantage of the alternative investments that are becoming so crucial to generational wealth.

The cultural alignment between Simon Quick and Red Hook bears repeating. We don’t believe in forcing advisors OR investors into adopting cookie-cutter tools and strategies. This deal is about protecting what is already great about Red Hook’s approach to family wealth and providing their team with the resources they need to take their service to the next level.

In joining forces, the combined firm provides growth opportunities for the Red Hook team members. Tom Trynin is excited to devote his full attention to serving his clients and developing new client relationships for the firm. Such growth opportunities are important as it helps the firm attract talented professionals to our firm so that we can continue to provide top-tier client service.

We are confident and excited about our growing team. We have served some of our clients for more than 30 years now. By joining together, Simon Quick and Red Hook have ensured our service will meet your high standards for generations to come.

Please join us in welcoming the Red Hook team and celebrating this exciting milestone in our firm’s growth!
