Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Initiatives born from our CORE values.
Our firm’s culture is rooted in trust, respect, collaboration, and teamwork and our DEI initiatives were born from those values. At Simon Quick it is our mission to foster an environment of inclusion and promote diversity in the workplace. We believe that leveraging the unique perspectives and experiences of our employees will drive our team to be more comprehensive, innovative, and ultimately help us serve our clients better.
We commit to bring our mission to life through a holistic approach including:
Senior Leadership Accountability
Our senior leadership team members lead by example in demonstrating and promoting inclusive behaviors. We hold ourselves accountable by tracking our diversity metrics across all levels of the firm.
Firmwide Education and Engagement
Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee coordinates bi-annual trainings for both managers and employees on how to create an inclusive work environment. Our trainings focus on self-awareness and consideration for others. We ask our team members to take accountability and consider how their actions may impact their colleagues.
Hiring Initiatives
It is important for us to seek out top-talent from all walks of life who challenge the status quo and constantly seek improvement. We are continually diversifying our workforce by building relationships with Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) programs at schools in our region. In partnering with programs in our own backyard we are creating channels for internship and full-time employment opportunities. Additionally, our hiring committee is educated in the areas of appropriate resume screening, and interviewing strategies to help them mitigate their own biases throughout the hiring process.
Community Engagement
Our community engagement efforts seek to support and build bridges with underserved populations in the Morristown area. Starting in 2021 Simon Quick began offering one Morristown High School graduating senior a partial scholarship to cover undergraduate expenses. In offering this scholarship it is our sincere hope to demonstrate our support to minority students interested in pursuing a career in business or finance. Additionally, through our annual community service day, Simon Quick closes its doors for one afternoon every summer to lend our time to a non-profit in need. Our most recent community service days included putting on a field day at Cornerstone Family Program’s Neighborhood House and performing clean-up and maintenance duties at Bonnie Brae School.
