According to Financial Advisor Magazine, the RIA channel has surpassed $70 trillion in registered assets under management in 2017. Furthermore, this translates into a compound annual growth rate of 8.1%.
The growth within the industry can in large part be attributed to brokers and advisors leaving their respective companies and bringing new money with them into the independent RIA space. Not only new money, but registered investment advisors are held to a fiduciary standard where the client’s best interest come first, bringing reassurance that their interests are being carefully considered.
