Biography
Mr. Conger joined Simon Quick in 2022 and works with the Investment Research Team. Mr. Conger’s almost 50 years of investment experience includes time as a stock research analyst, trader, wealth manager, and investment advisor.
Bill began his career in 1973 at the Equitable Trust Company as a security analyst before moving to Wall Street as a fixed income salesman at Paine Webber. Next, he spent 10 years at Morgan Stanley, trading esoteric securities, and eventually became a Principal in charge of the Un-securitized Mortgage Department. In 1988 Mr. Conger joined JRO Associates to trade bankrupt securities, before moving to E.A. Moos in 1990 where he specialized in bankrupt and distressed tax-exempt securities for 10 years. In 2000 Bill joined RBC Dain Rauscher where he managed family and client portfolios before founding Red Hook Management with his late wife Nancy in 2008.
Bill served in the US Army from 1966-1968 where he served as a Platoon Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Bill received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland in 1973. Mr. Conger’s non-profit work includes time as the Head of the Investment Committee for the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, Treasurer of the Board at Gill Saint Bernard’s School, President of the Lake End Corporation, and he is currently the Chair of the Board of The Raptor Trust. Bill is the proud father of three adult children and a husband to Kate Conger. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling, hawk banding, cycling, sprint car, and drag racing.
