Remote Working and COVID Response
As a firm, we’ve been planning our remote operations for years in what we refer to as our disaster recovery plan. In 2012 our plan was tested in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy when our team shifted to remote working for two weeks. Since then, we’ve invested in technology and made refinements to our plan. Now, for the second time, our entire staff is working remotely from their homes. Despite the change in our physical environment, our focus has been on creating a smooth transition and a consistent experience for clients. While we are working remotely, our office lines are forwarded to our cell phones so that clients may reach their advisory teams directly. Furthermore, we are processing transactions, and implementing portfolios for clients as usual. Despite the change in location, we are here, we are open for business, and we’re never too busy to help you or someone you care about.
In March, we began hosting weekly market calls in a series we are calling Weathering the Coronavirus Market Downturn. Our goal in hosting these calls is to bring our specialists to the forefront to help clients capitalize on the recent changes in global financial markets. If you would like to listen to the call recordings you can access them on the resources section of our website. We are moving to a bi-weekly schedule for the remainder of May, please click here to register for our next call, scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th.
In the Community
Since our inception in 2004, our culture has been firmly rooted in social improvement through our community involvement and philanthropic initiatives. We have hosted 9 Annual Charitable Golf Outings, which have raised over half a million dollars for local charities. Additionally, each year we dedicate our time to a local organization at our Annual Community Service Day, where most recently we volunteered at Bonnie Brae by landscaping, painting a deck, and organizing files. We are proud to support this incredible institution and look forward to finding ways to support them again in the future.

Events
In 2019, we hosted various client appreciation and Women’s Network events throughout the year. The end of the decade was filled with great events and even greater people. Our Women’s Network hosted their Crepes with a Side of Confidence breakfast event, which was centered around a discussion featuring Brielle Valle from Brielle Valle Consulting. During the event she shared her thoughts on how women can harness their power in the workplace and beyond. We also hosted our annual client holiday celebration at Restaurant Serenade in Chatham, NJ! We thank everyone who was able to attend and we hope to be able host in-person events again soon.
In The News
We are proud to be named to FA’s 2019 RIA Ranking, where we placed 106 in the total assets ranking! Additionally, we were named as Highly Commended in the Private Asset Management Awards 2020 “Best Firm Culture” category. Our team members are our most important asset, which is why we are so dedicated to creating an inclusive, forward thinking firm culture that aims to welcome members from all backgrounds and cultures. We are proud of this achievement and aim to continue building upon our firm culture and CORE values!
You may have seen our CIO, Christopher Moore, featured on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” where he discussed the political factors driving the market. Chris’ passion for investing dates back to his childhood, where his father’s interest in the financial world eventually led Chris to pursue investing as a career. Furthermore, our Head of Reseach, Wayne Yi, was featured on an Asset TV segment discussing the global market and geopolitics. Although, our research team weren’t the only one’s who had their time in the spotlight! Client Advisors, Larissa Mehlfelder and Bill Lalor both had their industry knowledge featured in the news! Larissa was featured in a Harness Wealth blog post discussing how an advisor can help their clients during market turbulence while Bill shared his advice to a couple with high credit card debt in the Wall Street Journal.
